Becky Szabo, Women's Track and Field
AKRON, Ohio - Senior Becky Szabo (North Olmsted, Ohio) was named the Zips' Student Athlete of the Week, presented by the University of Akron, on April 24.
Szabo finished second in the women's pole vault at the LSU Alumni Invitational on Saturday, April 22, by virtue of a jump-off with a clearance of 13-6.50 (4.13m).
She equaled the winning mark in the competition of Alyssa Applebee of Tulane, who currently owns the No. 16 mark in the country in 2017. Szabo holds the top mark in the Mid-American Conference in the pole vault in 2017 and is ranked No. 27 nationally.
