Akron Earns 1-1 Draw at Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. – The University of Akron women's soccer team garnered a goal in the 77th minute (76:09) from freshman Emma King (Akron, Ohio) to secure a 1-1 draw at Ball State (5-4-5, 4-1-2 MAC) on Thursday, Oct. 13.
"Our team worked incredibly hard today and showed the confidence and courage necessary to compete and find a result.," Akron head coach Jen Simonetti commented. "We were incredibly proud of their mentality to work together, combine and connect to come from behind. They are continuing to show growth each game."
After the Cardinals took an early 1-0 lead with a goal in the 33rd minute (32:45), King netted the equalizer for the Zips at the 76:09 mark with her third goal of the season to garner a key road point for Akron. Redshirt freshman Laurie-Anne Renaud (Quebec City, Quebec) tallied the assist on the tally.
Five different Zips registered a shot in the affair, while sophomore GK Penelope Cuirinier (Mionnay, France) pulled in a game-high four saves for Akron in the match.
