ESPN Live Video Graduate Assistant – The University of Akron

- Job Description: The University of Akron a NCAA Division 1 (FBS) institution and member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) is currently seeking a Graduate Assistant working as an ESPN productions. We are looking for a high energy individual eager to gain extensive knowledge in live sports production while pursuing a Master’s Degree at The University of Akron. The individual chosen for this position will already have knowledge of multiple sports the University of Akron participates within NCAA’s Division I level, including (not limited to) volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, baseball and softball. The preferred candidate will have pre-existing knowledge of pre-& post production plans, Live on-air producing and directing roles for the minimum 35 events required by the Mid-American Conference. This role will have limited, if any opportunity for play x play or color analyst. This is a technical production-based opportunity using Ross Carbonite Switcher, Ross Xpression, Grass Valley Dyno Replay system and Hitachi video equipment. Preferred knowledge with Adobe Creative Cloud. Late nights, long weekends may be required.

Athletics Media Relations Internship Opportunities
- Department: Athletics Media Relations

- Job Description: Internship candidates will report to the Assistant Athletics Director for Communications. Duties include, but are not limited to, gameday obligations of assigned sports (in-game statistics, in-game social media, distribution of stats, photography and graphic creation, etc.), may include copywriting (player bios, press releases, editing and record keeping). Share stories of our student-athletes and athletic programs. Individuals may be considered for an assistant contact role for select sport(s). In addition, this position may include responsibilities in maintaining GoZips.com, the department’s official website, and the University’s various athletics related social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.).

Athletics Marketing Internship

Athletics Ticketing Office Internship

- Brief job description as to what the interns would be doing- Ticketing Interns will join the Akron Zips Ticket Operations and Sales team to gain experience working in the ticket office on game days and during office hours. Through this internship, you will gain experience in sales calls, sales campaigns, ticket operations tasks, and game day operations and activations. Additionally, interns can take part in the Taymar Sales U Internship Program to network with members of other institutions and learn from industry leaders in the ticketing world. Internships are available year-round.

Athletics Facilities, Events & Operations Internship

Athletics Compliance Internship

- Preferred Qualifications: Undergraduate student or Graduate Student with a desire to pursue a career in college athletics compliance. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe Creative Suite, and graphic design is a plus.
- Brief job description as to what the interns would be doing: An Athletic Compliance department oversees all aspects of student-athlete eligibility in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) sports. This includes, but is not limited to, student-athlete conduct, academic requirements, amateurism, recruiting, financial aid, and playing/practice seasons. An athletic compliance officer helps ensure that all the rules, regulations, and bylaws set forth by the institution, conference, and NCAA are followed. As a Compliance Intern, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Associate AD of Internal Operations and the Associate AD of Compliance. In this position, you will assist in the overall day-to-day operations of athletics compliance which includes monitoring NCAA and conference rules, educating the staff and student-athletes regarding all regulations, inputting data into compliance software programs, managing amateurism and recruiting bylaws, and assisting with reports.
