Michigan leads the all-time series, 4-1
Akron and Michigan are meeting on the hardwood for the sixth time. Michigan leads the all-time series, 4-1, with the Zips earning a 58-49 win over the Wolverines back on Nov. 17, 2008. The last time the two teams clashed was during the 2019 season during the Akron Classic (11/16/19). The Zips fell to Michigan, 80-71.

LAST TIME OUT
The Zips improved to 3-2 overall after taking down Detroit Mercy,67-60 at home on Monday. Martindale led the Zips (3-2) with 16 points, Brewer recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds and freshman forward Reagan Bass (Strongsville, Ohio) chipped in with nine points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots in the win. Senior guard Kendall Miller (Akron, Ohio) also notched eight points, five rebounds four assists and two steals for Akron. It was Martindale who drained five of Akron's seven 3-pointers, helping create spacing on the floor and creating room for Brewer and Bass to operate in the paint.
Akron limited the Titans to 32.8-percent shooting, including just four made 3-pointers, forced 15 turnovers and blocked four shots to earn its third win of the season.

SCOUTING #12 MICHIGAN
The Wolverines, stand 7-1 under the direction of 10th-year head coach Kim Barnes Arico
 after dropping a 70-48 decision to No. 10 Louisville on Thursday night. Senior Naz Hillmon paced the offense with 12 points, as well as adding a team-high eight boards, two blocks, and a pair of steals. Senior Emily Kiser netted 10 points and four rebounds, while junior Maddie Nolan added six points.Â
Michigan is averaging 66.6 points per game on 41.1 percent shooting (197-479) from the floor and 28.5 percent shooting (37-130) from long range. The Wolverines have a duo of players averaging in double-figures with senior Naz Hillmon leading the way with 20.4 points per game on 58.8 percent shooting, ranking 18th in the NCAA. Leigha Brown follows with 12.8 points per game. Hillmon leads the squad on the boards averaging 9.7 rebounds per game.Â

Defensively, the Wolverines have held their opponents to 54.4 points per game on 36.1 percent shooting from the floor and only 29.6 percent from beyond the arc. Michigan has 131 turnovers (16.4 turnovers per game) while collecting 57 steals (7.1 steals per game). On the glass, the Wolverines have out-rebounded their opponents, 329-272 for a +7.1 margin.
