AKRON, Ohio -Â The University of Akron lacrosse team faces a busy week as the Zips travel to Radford on Wednesday (March 19) before welcoming Central Michigan to InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field on Sunday (March 23).

Akron will battle Radford at 2 p.m. on Wednesday before a noon showdown with the Chippewas on Sunday.

PARKING UPDATE: Akron lacrosse fans are encouraged to park in Lot 6, 9 and 10 (Surrounding the Field House off Vine and Union Streets) for this weekend's lacrosse match. Parking in other lots without appropriate UA permit is subject to ticketing by parking services. ZIPS NAME TRIO TEAM CAPTAINS FOR 2025:
The Akron senior trio of Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.), Jaelyn Clinkscales (Rochester, N.Y.) and Bryanne Harner (Friendswood, Texas) will serve as the Zips' captains for the 2025 campaign.

BOYD NAMED MAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Noelle Boyd was honored by the Mid-American Conference as its Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday (March 18).
Boyd turned in a strong week for the Zips registering five goals, two assists, eight shots on goal, eight draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers.

She helped the Zips open Mid-American Conference play with a come-from-behind 14-13 victory at Youngstown State recording a game-high 5 goals on the strength of 7 shots, all on goal, while adding 5 draw controls, 2 ground balls and a caused turnover. Two of her goals came in the second half, including the game-winner with 1:15 left in regulation.

Earlier in the week at Rider, she posted a pair of assists to go along with 2 shots, 3 draw controls and one caused turnover.
SCOUTING AKRON:
Sophomore Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, Minn.) leads the Zips in goals (29), points (36), shots (69) and shots on goal (49). Noelle Boyd paces the squad in draw controls (41), while ranking second in assists (8) and third in ground balls (15). Junior Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) directs the team in assists (9). Senior goalkeeper Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) has registered 55 saves and a team-high 22 ground balls.

Akron is meeting Radford for the fourth time in program history. The Highlanders enter their showdown with the Zips at 2-5 on the campaign following a 20-9 setback against Kent State on March 12. Junior Mady Cheney directs Radford's offensive efforts pacing the squad in goals (15), points (15), shots (30), ground balls (14) and draw controls (26), while ranking second in shots on goal (22). Sophomore goalkeeper Ava LaManna has collected 74 saves and 12 ground balls on the campaign en route to posting a 14.89 goals against average. Radford is led by fourth-year head coach Samantha Hurley, who owns a 15-42 ledger as a head coach for the Highlanders and is 48-67 in eight years overall as a head coach.

A golden goal with 12 seconds remaining in the fourth overtime period from Sienna Hinchcliffe lifted the Akron lacrosse team to an 8-7 triumph past Radford on March 19, 2024, at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Hinchcliffe scored a team-high two goals, while adding a pair of assists to power the Zips to the victory.
• Adding one goal apiece to the Akron offensive attack was Noelle Boyd, juniors Heather Carey (Williamsville, N.Y.) and Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.), Anjali Silverheels and Macy Vail.
• Jaelyn Clinkscales, Hinchcliffe and senior Graceann Schwab (Rochester, N.Y.) collected two, two and one assist, respectively.
• Hinchcliffe registered a game-high 10 shots for the Zips, including eight shots on net.
• Bryanne Harner and Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) pulled in a team-best four ground balls each, while Katie Baumer notched three caused turnovers.

The Chippewas enter their showdown with the Zips at 1-7 on the campaign, including 0-1 in the Mid-American Conference following a 10-9 overtime setback against Kent State on March 16. Senior Skye Deprado leads Central Michigan's offensive efforts pacing the squad in goals (11) and shots on goal (18), while ranking second in points (13) and shots (22). Senior goalkeeper Alexa Martel has collected 83 saves and 14 ground balls on the campaign en route to posting a 15.59 goals against average. Central Michigan is led by third-year head coach Emilia Ward, who owns a 16-29 ledger as a head coach for the Chippewas and is 34-85 in eight years overall as a head coach.

The University of Akron lacrosse team battled league-leading Central Michigan down to the wire before dropping an 11-7 decision on April 21, 2024, in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Jaelyn Clinkscales and sophomore Kaitlyn Sikorski each netted a pair of goals to lead the offensive efforts for the Zips.
• Contributing a goal apiece for Akron were Noelle Boyd, Jacqueline Glassey and Macy Vail.
• Clinkscales, Kellen Fletcher, Sienna Hinchcliffe and Kaija Kunttu tallied one assist each for the Zips.
• Hinchcliffe recorded a team-high seven shots, while garnering five, four, four and four shots, respectively, was Boyd, Clinkscales, Fletcher and Vail.
