Akron Drops 11-7 Decision at League-Leading Central Michigan

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The University of Akron lacrosse team battled league-leading Central Michigan down to the wire before dropping an 11-7 decision on Sunday (April 21).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Junior Jaelyn Clinkscales (Rochester, N.Y.) and freshman Kaitlyn Sikorski (Plymouth, Minn.) each netted a pair of goals to lead the offensive efforts for the Zips.
• Contributing a goal apiece for Akron were seniors Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.) and Jacqueline Glassey (Kildeer, Ill.) along with sophomore Macy Vail (Joppatowne, Md.).
• Clinkscales, sophomore Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.), freshman Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.) and redshirt senior Kaija Kunttu (Zionsville, Ind.) tallied one assist each for the Zips.
• Hinchcliffe recorded a team-high seven shots, while garnering five, four, four and four shots, respectively, was Boyd, Clinkscales, Fletcher and Vail.
• Sophomores Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) and Dani Dahl (Fairfax, Va.) netted a pair of caused turnovers, while collecting a team-best three ground balls was Boyd, junior Bryanne Harner (Friendswood, Texas) and Vail.
• Baumer led Akron with four draw controls.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Kylan Rhude (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) pulled in seven saves for the Zips.
