Akron Earns 11-10 Triumph Over Titans

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron lacrosse team withstood a late charge from Detroit Mercy to earn an 11-10 triumph past the Titans in Mid-American Conference action on Sunday (April 14) at InfoCision Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Junior Jaelyn Clinkscales (Rochester, N.Y.) and sophomore Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.) each netted a trio of goals to lead the offensive efforts for the Zips.
• Adding two goals each was senior Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.) and freshman Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.), while senior Jacqueline Glassey (Kildeer, Ill.) rounded out the scoring efforts for Akron with a goal.
• Hinchcliffe and junior Graceann Schwab (Rochester, N.Y.) tallied a pair of assists each, while tallying one assist apiece was Boyd, Glassey and sophomore Macy Vail (Joppatowne, Md.).
• Boyd and Fletcher each recorded a team-high five shots, including five and four on goal, respectively.
• Senior Alexi Hardy (Beavercreek, Ohio) and junior Bryanne Harner (Friendswood, Texas) netted a pair of caused turnovers, while collecting a team-best five ground balls was sophomore goalkeeper Kylan Rhude (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.).
• Boyd led Akron with four draw controls.
• Rhude pulled in 11 saves for the Zips.
