AKRON, Ohio -Â The University of Akron lacrosse team will be challenged by a pair of matches this upcoming week, including the Mid-American Conference opener for the Zips at Robert Morris on Sunday (March 17).

Akron travels to face Robert Morris on Sunday before welcoming Radford to InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field for a 2 p.m. tilt on Tuesday (March 19).
SCOUTING AKRON:
Freshman Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, Minn.) leads the Zips in goals (20), points (26), shots (44) and shots on goal (33). Freshman Kaitlyn Sikorski (Plymouth, Minn.) directs the squad in assists (11), while senior Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.) has recorded a team-best 46 draw controls. Junior goalkeeper Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) owns 69 saves and a team-high 26 ground balls, while sophomore GK Kylan Rhude (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) has added 16 stops on the campaign.

The Akron senior quartet of Noelle Boyd, Jacqueline Glassey, Alexi Hardy and Anjali Silverheels (Hamburg, N.Y.) will serve as the Zips' captains for the 2024 campaign.

Akron is meeting Robert Morris for the sixth time in program history. The Colonials come into competition against Canisius on Saturday at 1-7 on the campaign, including 0-0 in the Mid-American Conference, following a 15-6 setback at Mount St. Mary's on March 12. Senior Lilli Hadden leads Robert Morris' offensive efforts pacing the squad in goals (11), shots (24), shots on goal (22), while ranking second in points (13) and fourth in assists (2). Junior goalkeeper Sydney Riker has collected 72 saves and a team-best 21 ground balls on the campaign en route to posting a 14.76 goals against average. Robert Morris is led by first-year head coach Courtney Grove, who owns a 1-7 ledger as a head coach for the Colonials and is 133-109 in 16 overall campaigns as a head coach.

The Highlanders enter their showdown against Akron on Tuesday (March 19) at 3-5 on the campaign following a 15-10 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on March 12. Redshirt senior Margaret Gleason directs Radford's offensive attack registering team-high marks in goals (19), points (20), shots (38) and shots on goal (29), while ranking second in draw controls (14). Senior goalkeeper Olivia Hunter has recorded 50 saves and owns a 13.05 goals against average. Radford is led by third-year head coach Samantha Hurley, who owns a 10-31 ledger as a head coach for the Highlanders and is 43-56 in her seventh overall campaign as a head coach.
