Melissa Jackson named Dajae Black as Assistant Basketball coach in July of 2022.

Dajae Black comes to Akron after spending two seasons on staff with the Grand Canyon women's basketball program. Black was a graduate assistant for the Lopes during the 2020-21 season, but was promoted to Director of Basketball Operations after one season.

A native of Chiago, Ill., Black was a four-year member of the women's basketball squad at Lewis University, where she appeared in 97 games, including 37 starts. Black was also a four-time recipient of the Br. David Delahanty Award, which recognizes Lewis student-athletes for academic excellence. The Flyers went 93-34 (.795) during Black's four-year career.
