AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron lacrosse squad saw its unbeaten streak to open the campaign end at three as Canisius registered a 19-10 triumph over the Zips on Saturday (Feb. 21) at the Stile Athletics Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Akron garnered a team-high three from junior Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.), while fellow junior Kaitlyn Sikorski (Plymouth, Minn.) posted a two-goal and team-high two-assist performance for the Zips.
• Senior Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) tallied two goals, while seniors Heather Carey (Williamsville, N.Y.) and Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.) along with freshman Faith Sellet (Cincinnati, Ohio) recorded one goal apiece.
• Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Adrianna Califano Bellmore, N.Y.) garnered a game- and career-high eight saves.
• Sikorski and Fletcher dished out two and one assist, respectively, for the Zips.
• Fletcher posted a game-high three ground balls, while Baumer pulled in a team-best six draw controls.
• Four different Zips collected a caused turnover for Akron.
• Recording seven and six shots, respectively, was Baumer and Hinchcliffe.
