KENT, Ohio – Six unanswered second-quarter goals lifted Kent State past Akron, 18-12, in Mid-American Conference lacrosse action on Sunday (April 7) at Dix Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Freshman Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.) netted a team-high four goals to headline Akron's offensive efforts.
• Tallying three, two, one, one and one goal, respectively, for the Zips was sophomore Macy Vail (Joppatowne, Md.), senior Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.), junior Jaelyn Clinkscales (Rochester, N.Y.), sophomore Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.) and junior Graceann Schwab (Rochester, N.Y.).
• Senior Jacqueline Glassey (Kildeer, Ill.), Boyd, sophomore Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.), Hinchcliffe and Schwab were credited with three, two, one, one and one assist for the Zips.
• Hinchcliffe recorded a team-high eight shots, including seven on goal, while Fletcher posted six shots.
• Senior Antonia Trickett (Cleveland, Ohio) netted a pair of caused turnovers, while collecting a team-best two ground balls.
• Hinchcliffe led Akron with eight draw controls each.
• Junior Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) pulled in six saves for the Zips.
