Eastern Michigan Thwarts Late Akron Rally

AKRON, Ohio – A late rally for the Akron lacrosse team came up just short as Eastern Michigan bested the Zips, 11-10, in Mid-American Conference action on Sunday (March 24) at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Freshman Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.) netted a team-high three goals, including a pair of second-half tallies, to lead Akron's offensive efforts.
• Tallying two goals apiece for the Zips was senior Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.) and junior Jaelyn Clinkscales (Rochester, N.Y.), while sophomore Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.), Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.) and Macy Vail (Joppatowne, Md.) each collected a goal for Akron.
• Fletcher and Vail were credited with an assist apiece for the Zips.
• Hinchcliffe recorded a team-high seven shots, all on goal, while Boyd posted five shots, including four on frame.
• Redshirt senior Sarah Rech (Gibsonia, Pa.) and Hinchcliffe netted three caused turnovers apiece, while Rech collected a team-best four ground balls.
• Baumer and Hinchcliffe led Akron with two draw controls each.
• Junior Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) pulled in six saves for the Zips.
