CINCINNATI, Ohio – A goal by freshman Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.) lifted the University of Akron lacrosse team to a come-from-behind 11-10 triumph at Xavier on Saturday (March 2).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Trailing 10-4 midway through the third period, the Zips garnered seven unanswered goals to secure the road victory over the Musketeers.
• Senior Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.) and Hinchcliffe led Akron's offensive attack with four and three goals, respectively.
• Senior Jacqueline Glassey (Kildeer, Ill.) earned a game-high three assists in the affair.
• Boyd, Hinchcliffe, sophomore Kellen Fletcher (Valenica, Pa.) and junior Graceann Schwab (Rochester, N.Y.) registered eight, five, four and four shots, respectively, for the Zips, including six and five shots on goal from Boyd and Hinchcliffe.
• Boyd added a team-best seven draw controls, while junior Bryanne Harner (Friendswood, Texas) pulled in three ground balls.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Kylan Rhude (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and junior Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) tallied five and four saves, respectively, in net for Akron.
