AKRON, Ohio -Â The University of Akron lacrosse team returns to action with a pair of tilts this week as the Zips face road tests at Duquesne and Xavier on Tuesday (Feb. 27) and Saturday (March 2), respectively.

Akron will battle the Dukes in a 4 p.m. tilt in Pittsburgh, Pa., before traveling down I-71 to Cincinnati for a 2:30 p.m. encounter with the Musketeers.
SCOUTING AKRON:
Freshman Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, Minn.) leads the Zips in goals (7), points (9), shots (15) and shots on goal (11). Freshman Kaitlyn Sikorski (Plymouth, Minn.) directs the squad in assists (5), while senior Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.) has recorded a team-best 17 draw controls. Junior goalkeeper Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) owns 32 saves and a team-high 18 ground balls, while sophomore GK Kylan Rhude (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) has added eight stops on the campaign.

ZIPS NAME QUARTET TEAM CAPTAINS FOR 2024:
The Akron senior quartet of Noelle Boyd, Jacqueline Glassey (Kildeer, Ill.), Alexi Hardy and Anjali Silverheels (Hamburg, N.Y.) will serves as the Zips' captains for the 2024 campaign.

"I've been very impressed with the dedication, work ethic, positivity, and commitment they've shown in leading the team both on and off the field. Their love for Akron Lacrosse and their teammates, as well as their pride in the program are traits they display daily. I really look forward to working with them this season as we chase a MAC championship!"

SCOUTING DUQUESNE:
Akron is squaring off against Duquesne for the second time in program history and first since the 2020 season. The Dukes enter their match against Akron on Tuesday (Feb. 27) at 3-1 on the campaign following a 13-7 triumph past Detroit on Feb. 24. Redshirt sophomore Corinne Webb leads Duquesne's offensive efforts pacing the squad in goals (13) and points (15), while ranking second in shots (25) and shots on goal (19). Redshirt junior goalkeeper Rachel O'Toole has collected 18 saves and 12 ground balls on the campaign en route to posting a 12.27 goals against average. Duquesne is led by sixth-year head coach Corinne Desrosiers, who owns a 28-41 ledger as a head coach for the Dukes and is 128-108 in her 16th overall campaign as a head coach.

Akron is squaring off against Xavier for the first time in program history. The Musketeers enter their showdown against Akron on Saturday (March 2) at 2-2 on the campaign following a 15-11 triumph past Presbyterian on Sunday (Feb. 25). Sophomore Lola Mancuso directs Xavier's offensive attack registering team-high marks in goals (15), assists (6), points (21), shots (28) and shots on goal (21), while ranking second in ground balls (7) and third in draw controls (11). Sophomore goalkeeper Marina Pisczor has recorded 13 saves and owns a 10.29 goals against average. Xavier is led by second-year head coach Meg Decker, who owns a 6-12 ledger as a head coach for the Musketeers and is 8-56 in her sixth overall campaign as a head coach.
