AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron track and field team posted five victories as part of 22 overall top-three performances at the Fifth Annual Al Campbell Invitational on Friday (Feb. 16) at the Stile Athletics Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Redshirt junior Hunter Garretson (Newcomerstown, Ohio) triumphed in the men's pole vault registering a career-best mark of 18-9.25 (5.72m), the No. 2 performance in the NCAA this season.
• Redshirt senior Kyle Stober (Mogadore, Ohio) won the men's 5,000 meters in a time of 16:09.10
• Senior Jameel Williamson (Columbus, Ohio) captured the men's 400 meters crossing the line in a career-best time of 48.23.
• Senior Dimitrije Novakovic (Belgrade, Serbia) bested the field in the men's long jump with a mark of 23-8 (7.21m), while sophomore Benjamin Hudak (Tallmadge, Ohio) placed second with a career-best jump of 21-1.50 (6.74m).
• Freshman Mason Birch (Strongsville, Ohio) triumphed in the men's triple jump with a mark of 42-2.25 (12.86m).
• Freshman Megan Hipple (Warren, Ohio) ran a career-best time of 5:00.02 to place second in the women's mile.
• Freshman Braylyn Farrington (Alabaster, Ala.) placed second in the men's 400 meters in 48.83.
• Junior Adaeze Nwokike (Benin City, Nigeria) crossed the line second in the women's 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.75.
• Redshirt senior Jabari Neal-Jackson (Cincinnati, Ohio) finished second in the men's weight throw with a mark of 64-8 (19.72m).
• Junior Joy Nwokike (Benin City, Nigeria) finished second in the women's 60 meters in a time of 7.54.
• Sophomore Tysean Baronette (Middleton, Dela.) placed second in the men's 200 meters in a career-best time of 21.75
• Junior Ruth Webb (Akron, Ohio) recorded a career-best mark of 34-7.75 (10.56m) to finish second in the women's triple jump.
