AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron women's soccer team came up short in its non-conference showdown against Dayton, 5-2, on Thursday (Aug. 31) at home at FirstEnergy Stadium.
How it Happened
The Zips took the early lead on a goal by sophomore Emma King (Akron, Ohio) in the sixth minute with an assist from junior Laurie-Anne Renaud (Quebec City, Quebec). Akron added a successful penalty kick from junior Katie Stafford (Gahanna, Ohio) in the seventh minute.
Game Notes
- Freshman GK Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio) totaled nine saves for the Zips.
