AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron lacrosse team dropped a one-goal decision, 10-9, to Presbyterian College on Tuesday evening at the Stile Athletics Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Nine different Zips registered goals in the contest.
• After the Blue Hose netted the first two goals of the evening, sophomore Kylie Harris (Lake Norman, N.C.) delivered her first goal of the season at the 5:35 mark of the first period.
• Sophomore Gabby Mahaffey (Columbus, Ohio), freshman Macy Vail (Joppatowne, Md.) and freshman Sarah Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) collected goals for Akron in the second quarter with tallies at the 9:07, 6:35 and 1:28 marks, respectively, as the Zips trailed at halftime, 6-4.
• Trailing early in the third period, the Zips rolled off three unanswered goals from senior Alexis Kiefer (West Chicago, Ill.), junior Anjali Silverheels (Hamburg, N.Y.) and senior Sarah Pattison (Cincinnati, Ohio) at the 12:55, 11:49 and 0:16, respectively, to trail by one, 8-7, entering the final stanza.
• Trailing 9-7, the Zips had a goal waved off after a violation on a free position shot, before sophomore Jaelyn Clinkscales (Rochester, N.Y.) found the back of the net at the 6:05 mark of the fourth quarter.
• Senior Kaija Kunttu (Zionsville, Ind.) capped the scoring in the affair with a tally for Akron with 12 seconds remaining in the match.
• Sophomore GK Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) and freshman GK Kylan Rhude (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) tallied registered 11 and four saves, respectively, for the Zips.
