NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Akron softball team opened the day at the Lady Bison Classic hosted by Lipscomb on Saturday, March 11, dropping a 1-0 decision against the host Lady Bison before erupting for a 13-6 triumph over Evansville in a contest that was finished on Sunday, March 12.

The Lady Bison plated a two-out RBI double in the opener for all the scoring in the contest as Lipscomb earned a 1-0 win.

Five different Zips collected a hit in the game, while redshirt senior P Olivia Otani (Canton, Ohio) struck out two in 5.0 innings in the circle before redshirt senior P Alexa DiFeo (Akron, Ohio) worked a scoreless frame of relief.

In game two, Akron responded with a five-run first inning en route to the triumph. The Zips added two runs in the second inning before scoring three runs in both the fourth and sixth innings, respectively.

Sophomore Alexis Campbell (Indianapolis, Ind.), redshirt junior Tiffany Stevens (Toledo, Ohio) and junior Madison Dudek (Uniontown, Ohio) each recorded RBI singles in the frame.

Campbell finished the game 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored, while Stevens was 4-of-4 with and RBI. Adding two RBI each was freshman Meagan Lee (Leander, Texas) and redshirt junior Jaiden Bryant (Hilliard, Ohio).

Junior P Olivia Stefanoni (Hudson, Ohio) worked 4.0 innings in the circle and struck out a pair before freshman P Haley Croyle (Hubbard, Ohio) added 3.0 innings of relief for the save.
