Akron Falls to Indiana in Finale of Lady Bison Classic

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Akron softball team dropped a 5-0 decision to Indiana in the finale of the Lady Bison Classic hosted by Lipscomb on Sunday, March 12.
"I thought we played pretty well all weekend," Akron head coach Craig Nicholson commented. "Even though we got shutout twice, our approach at the plate is improving and we got a bunch of well-pitched games this weekend. We need to keep getting better every day as we get ready to start MAC play."
The Hoosiers broke open a scoreless game with a single tally in the bottom of the fourth inning to assume a lead they didn't relinquish. Indiana plated three runs in the fifth and a single tally in the sixth to account for the 5-0 final.
Five different Zips collected base hits in the contest.
