SERIES HISTORY
Akron is meeting Bowling for the 29th time in program history with the Falcons owning a 18-10 series advantage. In the last meeting between the two schools, Akron registered a come-from-behind 35-20 triumph past Bowling Green on Oct. 9, 2021 in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Zips and Falcons last met in Akron on Dec. 5, 2020 with the Zips posting a 31-3 victory.
The series between the two schools dates back to the 1941 campaign when Akron earned an 8-0 home victory over Bowling Green. The Zips and Falcons have met every season since 2012 with Akron in search of its third consecutive victory over Bowling Green.
SCOUTING BOWLING GREEN
Bowling Green comes into action versus Akron at 1-3 on the campaign following a 45-14 setback at Mississippi State on Saturday, Sept. 24.
Senior QB Matt McDonald paces the Falcons' attack passing for 690 yards, including throwing for 10 touchdowns. Sophomore RB's Jaison Patterson and Ta'Ron Keith have combined to rush for 83 and 81 yards, respectively, while running for one touchdown. Keith and senior WR Odieu Hiliare have hauled in a combined 30 passes for 289 yards and five touchdowns.
Defensively, the quartet of senior S Chris Bacon, senior LB DJ Taylor, junior LB JB Brown and senior LB Darren Anders have combined to record 27, 24, 23 and 21 tackles, including posting 18, 13, 16 and nine solo stops, respectively. Bowling Green has tallied 14 sacks and 24 tackles for a loss.
As a team, the Falcons average 30.5 points per game, while their opponents net 45.0 points per outing. Bowling Green has thrown for 220.0 yards and rushed for 85.0 yards per tilt.

AKRON INTRODUCES CLEAR BAG POLICY
University of Akron Athletics in conjunction with increased security measures on the campus of The University of Akron has established a clear bag policy at all its athletic venues for the 2022-23 year.

In alignment with many of the area's professional organizations, Akron has instituted new clear bag policy where approved bags include clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed a size of 12 inches wide by 12 inches high and 6 inches deep. Other approved bags include one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar), medical bags and small clutch bags approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap.

Prohibited bags include backpacks, binocular cases, camera cases, fanny packs, large-printed bags, mesh bags, purses and tinted plastic bags.

Prohibited items include; artificial noisemakers, laser pointers, hoverboards/skateboards, signs larger than 2 feet by 3 feet, alcoholic beverages, outside food and beverages, signs with inappropriate of offensive language and weapons are not permitted at Akron Athletic venues.

Prohibited behavior include but are not limited to throwing objects of any kind; demonstrating unruly behavior; attempting to enter the court; engaging in behavior that endangers the safety of student athletes, coaches, officials, or other guests; attempting to access the court and/ or taunting of law enforcement, safety and event staff personnel. Consequences for guests exhibiting prohibited behavior include, but are not limited to, ejection from all Akron Athletic venues, and/or arrest.
