Zips Host Buffalo for Series Starting on Tuesday

AKRON, Ohio- The Akron softball team (13-24, 8-8 MAC) will host Buffalo for a series starting on Tuesday, April 19 at 3 p.m. Akron will close out the series on Wednesday, April 20 with a doubleheader with a 1 p.m. first game start time.

The Zips stand 13-24 overall and 8-8 in MAC play after going 1-2 over the weekend at Western Michigan. Akron fell 6-0 in the series opener, followed by taking the second game in the doubleheader with a 1-0 victory in extra innings. In the series finale, the Zips fell 8-0 in five innings. Rachel Steffan leads Buffalo at the plate batting a .303 average with 27 hits, six homers, and a team-high 21 RBI. Olivia Kincanon has hit a team-best seven home runs.
