AKRON, Ohio- The Akron women's soccer team celebrated its five seniors on Sunday before its game against Bowling Green. However, Akron was unable to come out on top and fell to Bowling Green, 3-0.

The Falcons scored a goal in the opening half, followed with capitalizing on two in the second half en route to notching the victory over the Zips as BG outshot the Zips, 16-7.

Bowling Green capitalized on a tally from Nikki Cox in the 39th-minute mark (39:37) to assume a lead the Falcons wouldn't give up.

Aislinn Meaney (Claire, Ireland) fired a shot on goal attempt as the equalizer at the 50:38 mark, one that was denied by Lili Berg.

The Falcons added a pair of goals in the second half at the 45:34 and 63:30 mark to put the game out of reach and secure the 3-0 victory.

Sydney Worthy (Groveport, Ohio) and Meaney paced the Zips' offense with two shots each.

Goalkeeper Penelope Cuirinier (Mionnay, France) registered three saves.
