As a Redshirt Senior (2014): Second-team All-MAC … first-team All-MAC by Phil Steele and College Sports Madness … Midseason second-team All-MAC by Phil Steele … saw action in all 12 games with nine starts at defensive end … finished with 39 tackles, 10.5 TFL, and a team-best five sacks for a loss of 38 yards … also had a team-best five hurries … had four solo stops at Penn State and against Eastern Michigan … had three TFL for a loss of 19 yards against Eastern Michigan … recorded two sacks against Miami.
As a Redshirt Junior (2013): Appeared in all 12 games, making five starts ... finished the season with 31 tackles (17 solo), 4.5 tackles for a loss, two sacks and two forced fumbles ... started the first five games of the season at defensive end ... opened the season with back-to-back five-tackle performances, including at Central Florida (Aug. 29) and vs. James Madison (Sept. 7) ... posted sacks against UCF and Louisiana (Sept. 21) ... had at least one tackle in 11-of-12 games.
As a Junior (2012): Did not compete in football … utilized his redshirt.
As a Sophomore (2011 at Colorado State): Played in all 12 games and was a starter seven times … honorable mention All-America selection by Sports Illustrated … earned first-team all-conference accolades from the Mountain West Conference and Phil Steele … led the MWC and ranked ninth nationally in sacks (0.83 spg) … also paced the league with 0.58 forced fumbles per contest (second nationally) and ranked seventh with 0.96 tackles for loss … had 34 tackles (25 solo) and led the Rams in tackles for loss (11.5), sacks (10) and forced fumbles (7) … his 10 sacks tied for fifth on CSU's all-time single-season list … also had two pass breakups and one fumble recovery … after leading the nation in sacks for five of the season's first six weeks, was named midseason defensive MVP of the MWC by ESPN.com and CollegeFootballNews.com … named third-team midseason All-American by Phil Steele and second-team midseason All-American by CollegeFootballNews.com … established the NCAA single-game record with four forced fumbles in the season-opening win at New Mexico (Sept. 3), breaking the previous mark of three held by 10 different players … following that performance against UNM, was named MWC Defensive Player of the Week and Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week, and was placed on the watch list for the Nagurski Trophy …
As a Freshman (2010 at Colorado State): Competed in four games … was one of seven true freshman to play in the season-opener versus Colorado (Sept. 4) … made one tackle for loss in the game against CU … finished the season with three tackles (two solo).
High School: Two-year starter as a defensive end, linebacker and tight end at Ocoee HS … ranked No. 93 on the Orlando Sentinel's Florida Top 100 … collected 24 sacks in 19 games played in 2008-09 … tallied two fumble recoveries for touchdowns of 80-plus yards … established the single-season school record with 15 sacks as a senior, en route to first-team all-district, all-Orange County and defensive team MVP honors ... a team captain as a senior in 2009 when the program went 7-4 after finishing 2-8 the season prior ... totaled 83 tackles as a senior, along with two pass breakups, one forced fumble, one blocked punt and one fumble recovery that was returned for a school-record 81-yard touchdown ... had at least one sack in seven of the Knights' 11 games as a senior, including four in his final game … on the offensive side of the ball as a senior, had two carries for 65 yards, including a 48-yard TD run … as a junior, played in eight contests and compiled 82 tackles, nine sacks, two forced fumbles, one blocked kick and two fumble recoveries, including an 80-yard touchdown return ... also competed in track and field, basketball and water polo.
