Akron Ends Spring Session with Spring Game

AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron football program capped a successful spring campaign with the annual Spring Game before an energized crowd at the InfoCision Stadium - Summa Health Field on Saturday, April 25

The Akron football team wrapped-up their 15 Spring practice sessions, using a combination of individual skill and group practice segments before the final scrimmage of the 2026 Spring Ball season. The team showcased explosiveness on both sides of the ball during the two-hour sneak peak of the 2026 Akron Zips Football program.

The Zips will enter the summer lifting and conditioning segment in the first week of June followed by Fall Camp in August.

Akron will kick off its 2026 campaign on Thursday, Sept. 3 in Winston-Salem, N.C. at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Zips home opener is slated for Saturday, Sept. 12 at InfoCision Stadium Summa Health Field against Robert Morris.

Akron rounds out the non-conference schedule against B1G opponent Minnesota at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn. And returns to InfoCision Stadium-Summa Health Field against UNLV Rebels on Saturday, Sept. 26.
