Akron Earns 16-6 Triumph at Robert Morris

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – University of Akron junior Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.) continued her campaign towards garnering Mid-American Conference Player of the Year accolades registering a game-high six-goal and four-assist performance to propel the Zips to a 16-6 league triumph at Robert Morris on Saturday (April 11).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Hinchcliffe contributed on 10 of Akron's 16 goals in the affair collecting six goals and four assists on the strength of equaling a career- and game-high in shots (12) for the third consecutive game, while netting 10 shots on goal.
• Seniors Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) and Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.) were equally impressive for the Zips netting three goals each.
• Senior Heather Carey (Williamsville, N.Y.) tallied a pair of goals, while sophomore Avery Wallace (Eden Prairie, Minn.) netted her first career goal at the 11:19 mark of the second quarter off an assist from junior Kaitlyn Sikorski (Plymouth, Minn.).
• Sikorski contributed three assists, while adding one assist apiece was Baumer, senior Dani Dahl (Fairfax, Va.) and Fletcher.
• Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Adrianna Califano (Bellmore, N.Y.) recorded three saves in the match for Akron.
• Baumer and Hinchcliffe paced the Zips with a game-high three ground balls each, while Baumer corralled a team-best six draw controls.
• Senior Sarah Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) tallied a game-high three caused turnovers.
