The Akron senior duo of Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) and Sarah Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) will serve as the Zips' captains for the 2026 campaign.

Junior Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.) leads the Zips in goals (41), points (57), shots (82) and shots on goal (54), while ranking second in caused turnovers (8) and in ground balls (18). Katie Baumer is second on the team in goals (26). Senior Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.) paces the squad in assists (19), while junior Kaitlyn Sikorski (Plymouth, Minn.) ranks third with 14. Senior Heather Carey (Williamsville, N.Y.), ranks third on the squad in goals netting 22. Akron is meeting Eastern Michigan for the fifth time in program history. The Eagles are 7-4 on the campaign, including 2-0 in the Mid-American Conference, following an 17-4 triumph over Detroit Mercy on March 19. Senior Mackenzie Blackwell owns team-high totals in goals (32), points (44), shots (73) and shots on goal (52), while ranking second in assists (12) and draw controls (21). Junior goalkeeper Maddy Porter has collected 99 saves and 38 ground balls, respectively, en route to posting 11.12 goals against average. Eastern Michigan is led by second-year head coach Maddie Dugan, who owns an 15-13 ledger as a head coach for the Eagles, and is 41-72 in eight overall campaigns as a head coach.

Akron registered a dominating 16-4 victory over Eastern Michigan in the semifinal round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament on May 1, 2025, in Moon Township, Pa.

• Akron garnered three goals apiece from Katie Baumer, Noelle Boyd, Kylie Harris and Sienna Hinchcliffe.
• Akron held Eastern Michigan to a MAC Tournament record four goals, the lowest scoring output in tournament history. It also represented the third time in tournament history a team has been held below 10 goals.

Akron saw its fourth-quarter rally come up a goal short in a 14-13 setback to San Diego State on Sunday (March 22) at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Health Field.

Hinchcliffe continued her stellar campaign this past week as the league leader in goals (41), points (57) and shots (82) registered team-leading marks in goals (7), points (9), shots (17), shots on goal (11) and draw controls (10).
She sparked Akron to its first-ever road victory at Kent State posting a game-high three goals along with an assist on the strength of a team-high six shots, including four on goal. Additionally, she added a game-high four draw controls to go along with a team-best two ground balls.
She concluded her week tallying a team-high four goals against San Diego State, while also adding an assist and pulling in a team- and season-best six draw controls.
