MURFREESBORO, TN --The Akron Zips received another outstanding pitching performance from Macy Walters, but fell 1-0 ton UT Martin on the final day of the Blue Raider Classic Sunday.

Walters (2-6) got the ball to start for Akron (6-14) and took the loss as the right-hander went 4.2 innings, giving up one run on six hits, allowing two walks and striking out one. Sydney Selker provided relief , throwing 2.1 shutout innings, allowing one hit, with one walk and four strikeouts.
The Akron offense generated two hits as Brooke Sivek and Sophia Wygast delivered singles to lead the Zips offense. Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
Akron managed zero chances with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position. The Zips last got a runner on third in the first, when B. Sivek made it 60 feet away from scoring with one out.
GAME NOTES
