CONWAY, S.C. -- The Akron Zips wrapped-up the Kickin' Chicken Classic with a 10-2 setback to the hosts Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Monday afternoon.

The Zips generated two runs in the third inning as Meagan Lee and Haley Glass crossed the plate. Brooke Sivek led-off the inning with a single to left field, and Lee followed with a fielder's choice. Andrea Day pushed the first run across the plate with a RBI single to right field as Lee scored. Glass scored the second run on a double steal as she was pinch running for Sophia Wygast who walked.

The Zips scattered five hits as Day recoded the lone RBI in a 1 for 2 effort. Wygast , Lily Sullivan and Kenzie Gatti all went 1 for 2 from the plate, while Sivek followed with a 1 for 3 performance.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 6-0, the Zips first put runs on the board in the third inning. Day's run-scoring single highlighted a two-run inning for Akron. The Zips were unable to get any closer, as Coastal Carolina added four runs to their tally on the way to a 10-2 final.
