ZIPS NAME TEAM CAPTAINS FOR 2026:
The Akron senior duo of Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) and Sarah Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) will serve as the Zips' captains for the 2026 campaign.

SCOUTING AKRON:
Junior Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.) leads the Zips in goals (5), assists (3), points (8), shots (10), shots on goal (8), draw controls (5), ground balls (4) and caused turnovers (2). Junior Kaitlyn Sikorski (Plymouth, Minn.) paces the squad in assists (3), while sophomore Julia Mattingly (Leonardtown, Md.) is tied for the team lead in ground balls (4). Seniors Heather Carey (Williamsville, N.Y.) and junior Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.) rank second on the squad in goals netting three apiece. Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Adrianna Califano (Bellmore, N.Y.) has registered five saves.

Akron is meeting Lindenwood for the third time in program history. The Lions are 0-2 on the campaign following a 14-11 setback at Eastern Michigan on Wednesday (Feb. 11). Senior Luci Selander leads the squad in goals (5), assists (5), points (10), shots (16) and shots on goal (11). Redshirt senior goalkeeper Taylor Coughlin has collected 17 saves and eight ground balls on the campaign en route to posting a 12.70 goals against average. Lindenwood is led by 15th-year head coach Jack Cribbin, who owns a 209-49 ledger as a head coach for the Lions

IN OUR LAST MEETING (MARCH 8, 2025 – ST. CHARLES, MO.):
Akron's Noelle Boyd registered a team-high five goals and two assists, but the efforts of the Zips were not enough in an 18-12 setback at Lindenwood on March 8, 2025.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Boyd netted a team-best five goals for the Zips, while tallying a pair of assists to direct Akron's offensive efforts.
• Sienna Hinchcliffe, Heather Carey, Kellen Fletcher and Julia Mattingly added to the offensive production for Akron netting three, two, one and one goals, respectively.
• Recording one assist apiece was Fletcher and Hinchcliffe.
• Boyd, Carey and Hinchcliffe posted seven, five and five shots, respectively, for the Zips.
• Katie Baumer led Akron with four ground balls, while Hinchcliffe pulled in a team-high three draw controls.
• Antonia Trickett tallied three caused turnovers, while goalkeeper Hannah Sanders recorded seven saves in net for Akron.

AKRON PICKED TO FINISH SECOND IN MAC PRESEASON POLL:
The Mid-American Conference announced the 2026 Preseason Coaches' Poll on Wednesday (Feb. 4) as Akron was selected by the league's women's lacrosse coaches to finish second this season.
Conference newcomer Massachusetts (48 points, 6 first-place votes) was tabbed to capture the regular and postseason championships followed by Akron (37 points), Eastern Michigan (37), Robert Morris (34, 1 first-place vote), Central Michigan (28), Kent State (19), Youngstown State (12) and Detroit Mercy (9).

AKRON TRIUMPHS PAST DUQUESNE:
Sparked by a five-goal and three-assist performance from Sienna Hinchcliffe, Akron registered a dominating 17-6 triumph past Duquesne on Feb. 7 in the season opener for both schools at the Stile Athletics Field House.
The win represented the 200th career coaching triumph for third-year Akron head coach Elaine Jones.

• Akron garnered a game-high five goals and three assists from Hinchcliffe.

ZIPS CAPTURE MAC TOURNAMENT TITLE:
A golden goal from Jaelyn Clinkscales with 14 seconds remaining in overtime propelled the Akron lacrosse team to its first ever Mid-American Conference Tournament title and NCAA Tournament berth with a come-from-behind 11-10 victory over Robert Morris in the league's title match on May 3, 2025, in Moon Township, Pa.
Picked to finish last in the MAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Zips overcame a five-goal second-half deficit to force and overtime and set the stage for Clinkscales' game-winning goal in overtime.
