GENEVA, Ohio – The University of Akron track and field team registered a trio of victories as part of 20 overall top five performances at the Spire Throws America Throws/Jump Festival on Saturday (Jan. 10).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Sophomore Isaac Baltic (Medina, Ohio) won the men's pole vault with a clearance of 16-8.75 (5.10m).
• Sophomore Sloane Sypolt (Louisville, Ohio) captured the women's discus with a throw of 143-9 (43.82m).
• Sophomore Amari Noble (Virginia Beach, Va.) bested the field in the men's discus with a mark of 168-4 (51.31m).
• Redshirt senior Lane Graham (Killbuck, Ohio) placed second in the men's shot put with a mark of 53-1.50 (16.19m).
• Junior Jessica Mason (Holland, Ohio) finished second in the women's pole vault eclipsing 12-0 (3.66m).
• Redshirt senior Gabrielle Griffiths (Fort Worth, Texas) was second in the women's elite shot put with a mark of 43-1 (13.13m).
