AKRON, Ohio -Â The University of Akron lacrosse team travels to Ypsilanti, Mich., for a key Mid-American Conference showdown at Eastern Michigan on Sunday (April 20) at 1 p.m.

ZIPS NAME TRIO TEAM CAPTAINS FOR 2025:
The Akron senior trio of Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.), Jaelyn Clinkscales (Rochester, N.Y.) and Bryanne Harner (Friendswood, Texas) will serve as the Zips' captains for the 2025 campaign.

SCOUTING AKRON:
Sophomore Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, Minn.) leads the Zips in goals (43), points (55), shots (105) and shots on goal (78). Noelle Boyd paces the squad in assists (17) and draw controls (63), while ranking third in ground balls (32). Junior Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) directs the team in caused turnovers (18). Senior goalkeeper Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) has registered 105 saves and a team-high 33 ground balls.

Akron is meeting Eastern Michigan for the third time in program history. The Eagles enter their showdown with the Zips at 7-7 on the campaign, including 3-2 in the Mid-American Conference, following a 15-8 victory at Kent State on April 13. Junior Mackenzie Blackwell directs Eastern Michigan's offensive efforts pacing the squad in goals (53), points (58), shots (111) and shots on goal (74), while ranking second in draw controls (34). Sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Porter has collected 147 saves and 61 ground balls on the campaign en route to posting a 10.47 goals against average. Eastern Michigan is led by first-year head coach Maddie Dugan, who owns a 7-7 ledger as a head coach for the Eagles and is 33-66 overall in seven years as a head coach.

A late rally for Akron came up just short as Eastern Michigan bested the Zips, 11-10, in Mid-American Conference action on March 24, 2024, at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Health Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Sienna Hinchcliffe netted a team-high three goals, including a pair of second-half tallies, to lead Akron's offensive efforts.
• Tallying two goals apiece for the Zips was Noelle Boyd and Jaelyn Clinkscales, while Katie Baumer, junior Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.) and Macy Vail each collected a goal for Akron.
• Fletcher and Vail were credited with an assist apiece for the Zips.
• Hinchcliffe recorded a team-high seven shots, all on goal, while Boyd posted five shots, including four on frame.
• Sarah Rech and Hinchcliffe netted three caused turnovers apiece, while Rech collected a team-best four ground balls.
