AKRON, Ohio -Â The University of Akron lacrosse team under the leadership of second-year head coach Elaine Jones will commence its 2025 campaign with a pair of home matches this week versus Duquesne and Saint Francis on Saturday (Feb. 8) and Tuesday (Feb. 11), respectively. The Zips will battle the Dukes at 2 p.m. at the Stile Athletics Field House on Saturday before welcoming the Red Flash to InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field for a 3 p.m. tilt on Tuesday.

PARKING UPDATE: Akron lacrosse fans are encouraged to park in Lot 6, 9 and 10 (Surrounding the Field House off Vine and Union Streets) for this week's lacrosse matches. Parking in other lots without appropriate UA permit is subject to ticketing by parking services. Please enter through the main doors to field house off of South Union Street.

ZIPS NAME TRIO TEAM CAPTAINS FOR 2025:
The Akron senior trio of Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.), Jaelyn Clinkscales (Rochester, N.Y.) and Bryanne Harner (Friendswood, Texas) will serve as the Zips' captains for the 2025 campaign.
SCOUTING AKRON:
Sophomore Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, Minn.) led the Zips in goals (35), points (48), shots (90), shots on goal (70) and game-winning goals (3) a season ago. Noelle Boyd led the squad in draw controls (73), while ranking second in goals (33), points (47), shots (70), shots on goal (49) and ground balls (24). Boyd and Hinchcliffe lead returners in assists recording 14 and 13 assists, respectively, a season ago. Senior goalkeeper Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) registered 91 saves and a team-high 37 ground balls.

• Sienna Hinchcliffe ranked third in shots per tilt (5.63), sixth in goals per outing (2.19) and in points (3.00) per contest.
• Bryanne Harner was seventh in caused turnovers (0.94).
• Hannah Sanders rated third in ground balls (2.64), sixth in saves per game (6.43) and in goals against average (13.25) and ninth in save percentage (.386).
• Noelle Boyd ranked third in draw controls per contest (4.56), seventh in goals (2.06), points per game (2.94) and in assists per match (0.80) and eighth in shots per outing (8.38).
• Junior Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) was fourth in caused turnovers (1.63) and seventh in draw controls per contest (3.50).

Akron is meeting Duquesne for the third time in program history. The Dukes are led by first-year head coach Tracy Coyne, who owns 312-224 ledger in 34 overall campaigns as a head coach.

SCOUTING SAINT FRANCIS:
Akron is meeting Saint Francis for the fifth time in program history. The Red Flash posted an 8-8 record in 2024, including a 7-3 mark in the Northeast Conference. Sophomore Julia Givens is the leading returning scorer for Saint Francis this season after registering 27 goals, eight assists and 35 points on the strength of 45 shots, including 37 shots on goal, while adding 26 ground balls. Senior goalkeeper Taylor Coughlin collected 160 saves en route to posting a 11.26 goals against average. Saint Francis is led by first-year head coach Morgan Gott, who owns a 0-0 ledger as a head coach for the Red Flash and is making her head coaching debut versus the Zips.
