ZIPS NAME TRIO TEAM CAPTAINS FOR 2025:
The Akron senior trio of Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.), Jaelyn Clinkscales (Rochester, N.Y.) and Bryanne Harner (Friendswood, Texas) will serve as the Zips' captains for the 2025 campaign.
SCOUTING AKRON:
Sophomore Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, Minn.) leads the Zips in goals (11), points (16), shots (23) and shots on goal (18). Noelle Boyd paces the squad in draw controls (17), while ranking second in shots (16) and ground balls (8). Juniors Heather Carey (Williamsville, N.Y.) and Hinchcliffe direct the team in assists (5). Senior goalkeeper Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) has registered 21 saves and a team-high 12 ground balls.

AKRON TRIO EARNS WEEKLY MAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK ACCOLADES:
Junior Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.), Sienna Hinchcliffe and Hannah Sanders were honored by the Mid-American Conference as its Lacrosse Players of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday (Feb. 19).
Baumer collected Defensive Player of the Week accolades, while Hinchcliffe was tabbed the Offensive Player of the Week. Sanders rounded out the weekly league plaudits garnering Goalkeeper of the Week accolades.
Baumer played a key role in the Zips' defensive efforts in a pair of victories last week. In Akron's win over Saint Francis, she helped the Zips limit the Red Flash to 21 shots, including 15 on goal, eight draw controls, while offensively adding two goals and two assists on four shots, all on net, with four draw controls and two ground balls. The Zips then held Xavier to only 12 shots on goal in win, while she tallied three goals and an assist on six shots, including three on goal, while recording one draw control and one ground ball.
Hinchcliffe registered team-best totals in goals (8), points (11), shots (15) and shots on goal (12), while ranking second in assists (3) and ground balls (6). In Akron's 11-4 win over Saint Francis, she recorded a game-high three goals on the strength of a game-best seven shots, including six on goal, while adding two ground balls and a draw control. She followed with a five-goal and three-assist performance in a victory over Xavier. Additionally, she added eight shots, including six on net, while tallying four ground balls, three draw controls and a caused turnover.

Sanders recorded 16 saves and owning a 5.00 goals against average in a pair of victories for the Zips. In Akron's win over Saint Francis, she posted a season-best 10 saves and tallied a pair of ground balls. She followed with a six-save effort against Xavier, while adding a game-high five ground balls.

Akron is meeting Presbyterian for the sixth time in program history. The Blue Hose enter their showdown with the Zips following a 15-5 setback versus Kent State on Thursday (Feb. 20). Junior Alyssa Perez leads Presbyterian's offensive efforts pacing the squad in goals (2), points (2), shots (4) and shots on goal (3). Junior goalkeeper Kayleigh Aitken collected six saves and four ground balls on the campaign en route to posting a 17.08 goals against average.
