AKRON, Ohio – Seven unanswered goals propelled the University of Akron lacrosse team to a come-from-behind 11-4 triumph past Saint Francis on Tuesday (Feb. 11) at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Junior Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.) and sophomore Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.) headlined Akron's offensive efforts registering a game-high three goals apiece.
• Juniors Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) and Heather Carey (Williamsville, N.Y.) each collected a pair of goals, while adding a pair of assists each.
• Sophomore Kaitlyn Sikorski (Plymouth, Minn.) added a goal and an assist for the Zips.
• Baumer, Carey and senior Kylie Harris (Lake Norman, N.C.) led Akron with two assists apiece, while recording an assist each was Fletcher and Sikorski.
• Hinchcliffe recorded a game-high seven shots, including six on goal, while Baumer, redshirt senior Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.), Fletcher and senior Jaelyn Clinkscales (Rochester, N.Y.) tallied five, five, five and four shots, respectively.
• Carey and Harris netted a pair of caused turnovers, while collecting a team-best four ground balls was freshman Julia Mattingly (Leonardstown, Md.).
• Baumer and Boyd posted five and four draw controls, respectively, senior goalkeeper Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio) pulled in 10 saves for the Zips.
