MUNCIE, Ind. -Â The University of Akron women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Ball State on Sunday (Oct. 12).
How it Happened
The Zips and Cardinals battled in a scoreless draw for the opening 30 minutes before Ball State netted what proved to be the game-winning tally in the 34th minute (33:25) from Emily Roper.
Ball State extended its advantages with goals at the 39:33 and 42:57 marks, respectively, to enter the intermission with a 3-0 lead.
Redshirt freshman GK Ariana Vakos (Avon, Ohio) led Akron with six saves. The Zips totaled four shots on the afternoon, two of them on goal. Akron faced 18 Ball State shots, 14 of them on frame.
Game Notes
- Vakos recorded six saves for the Zips out of eight total Cardinals shots, while junior GK Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio) collected five stops of her own.
- Akron recorded two shots on goal.
