SCOUTING BALL STATE
Ball State comes in action versus Akron at 6-5-2 on the campaign, including 3-3-1 in the Mid-American Conference following a 1-0 victory at Eastern Michigan on Thursday (Oct. 9).
The Cardinals are led by senior Addie Chester, who owns team-high marks in goals (8), assists (4), points (20), shots (42), shots on goal (18) and game-winners (3). Sophomore goalkeeper Kate Pallante has registered 21 saves and owns a 1.27 goals against average on the strength of a pair of shutouts.

Akron and Ball State are meeting for the 25th time in program history with the Cardinals leading the series, 16-2-6.
IN OUR LAST MEETING (SEPT. 26, 2024 – AKRON, OHIO)
Akron fell 1-0 to Ball State on Sept. 26, 2024, at FirstEnergy Stadium. The Cardinals scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the sixth minute (5:20) when Addie Chester found the back of the net off assists from Avery Fenchel and Emily Roper.
Ball State took a 1-0 lead into the intermission.
The Zips came out of the break and pushed the pace posting a 6-3 edge in second-half shots, but were able to find the equalizer in the match.
Penelope Cuirinier led Akron with five saves. The Zips registered eight shots in the loss, two of them on goal. Akron faced 13 Ball State shots, seven of them on goal.
SCOUTING AKRON
The Zips earned a 4-3 triumph past Central Michigan on Thursday (Oct. 9) to improve to 4-6-3 on the campaign, including 1-4-2 in the Mid-American Conference.
Freshman Addison Hall (Manchester, Conn.) registered her team-leading fourth goal of the season against Central Michigan (Oct. 9), while senior Emma King (Akron, Ohio), junior Jordanne Oberhaus (Wadsworth, Ohio) and senior Kylie Schiemann (Geneva, Ohio) along with freshmen Fineen Cregan (Rochester, N.Y.), Luisa Fragnoli (Medina, Ohio) and Olivia Pilato (Rochester, N.Y.) have tallied three, three, one, one, one and one goal, respectively. King directs the squad in shots (29) and shots on goal (13). Cregan and Oberhaus own a team-best three assists apiece for Akron. Junior goalkeeper Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio) and redshirt freshman GK Ariana Vakos (Avon, Ohio) own 29 and 24 saves, respectively, on the campaign en route to posting four shutouts and recording a 1.38 goals against average.
The Zips under the leadership of first-year head coach Maggie Kuhn return six starters in 2025, including sophomores Kailyn Biecker (Wadsworth, Ohio) and Olivia Heskett (Lewis Center, Ohio), King, Oberhaus, sophomore Kaitlyn Rogowski (Hilliard, Ohio) and redshirt sophomore Rachel Wenzel (Akron, Ohio).
Akron is led by team captains Bower and seniors Kaylen Goddard (Mechanicsville, Md.) and King as well as fellow returning players Schiemann, junior Emalee Szablewski (Lancaster, N.Y.) and sophomores Addison Lambert (Galena, Ohio), Allie McMillen (Shreve, Ohio), Eesha Sutharshan (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Vakos.
The Zips are bolstered by a talented 11-member 2025 signing class, which includes eight freshmen and three transfers.
The Zips boast 11 newcomers to the squad as donning the Akron uniform this fall will be senior Rielly Chesna (Chicago, Ill.), junior Lilly Touhey (Fishers, Ind.), sophomore Taylor Allen (Blacksburg, Va.) and freshmen Freya Blatz (Bethel Park, Pa.), Fiona Buczak (Brunswick, Ohio), Cregan, Fragnoli, Hall, Bailey Kerins (Dublin, Ohio), Pilato and Devyn Raymond (Shelby Township, Mich.).

FOUR ZIPS HONORED ON SENIOR DAY
The Zips' contest versus Green Bay on Aug. 31 marked Senior Day for four Zips as seniors Rielly Chesna, Kaylen Goddard, Emma King and Kylie Schiemann were honored in pregame ceremonies.
In her first season at Akron, Chesna has appeared in 11 games, including 10 starts, for the Zips, en route to registering a pair of assists on one shot, while sparking the squad to a trio of shutouts.
Goddard has appeared in 55 contests, including 42 starts, en route to recording 12 shots, with three shots coming on goal, and leading Akron to 13 shutouts over her career.
King has appeared in 53 contests, including 46 starts, en route to collecting a team-best 13 goals, six assists, 32 points and four game-winners fueled by 91 shots, including 47 on goal.
Schiemann has appeared in 44 contests, including 19 starts, en route to registering a goal and an assist on the strength of 17 shots, with nine shots falling on frame.
