AKRON, Ohio - Max Bowman tallied three hits, including a home run, in Akron's 20-6 loss to the Dayton Flyers on Tuesday.

In addition to his three hits, Bowman had a double, a home run and three RBI to lead the Zips. Charlie Schebler went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Anthony Fett (0-4) started and took the loss on the mound for Akron (6-29).

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Zips were trailing 9-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Akron scored twice, with one run coming across on Bowman's single.

The Zips deficit grew to 19-2 before their offense got back on the scoreboard, cutting into that deficit in the sixth inning. Akron pushed across a run on Schebler's one-out RBI double

Dayton expanded their lead to 20-3 before the Akron offense got back in action in the seventh. The Zips added three runs in the frame, two of them coming across on a two-run homer from Bowman.
