Akron Falls Short 3-1 to South Dakota

GREENVILLE, S.C. --Sophomore Meagan Lee went 2-for-3, but the Akron Zips still came up short on Saturday, and suffered defeat at the hands of the South Dakota Coyotes by a final of 3-1.
Lee led the way offensively for the Zips, going 2-for-3 in the ballgame. Freshman Sophia Wygast put together a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-3. Senior Tiffany Stevens also helped out, going 1-for-3 for Akron with a double.
Sophomore Haley Croyle (0-5) started and took the loss in the circle for Akron (2-8).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 3-0, the Zips first put runs on the board in the seventh inning. Akron got an RBI single from freshman Morgan Sizemore, scoring Stevens from second base. The ballgame ended with that seventh inning rally falling short.
