YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The University of Akron women's soccer team fell to Youngstown State, 1-0, Sunday (Aug. 20) on the road at Farmers National Bank Field.
The loss dropped Akron's record to 1-1-0 overall.
How it Happened
After the Penguins took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break, Akron kept Youngstown State scoreless the remainder of the game. Junior GK Penelope Cuirinier (Mionnay, France) led Akron with two saves. The Zips recorded five shots in the loss, four of them on goal. Akron held Youngstown State to only five shots with just three shots on goal
