Firestone Launches 13th Homerun of the Season, Zips Fall at Ohio State

Firestone recorded the Zips lone RBI and run scored as he is one homerun away from tying the Akron single-season record. Akron (13-19) recorded five hits as Arrivo, Seeker, Poist and Hara contributed to the Zips total.
Firestone plated the run in the sixth inning as Ohio State (15-15) scored answered in the bottom half of the frame. The Buckeyes started the scoring in the third inning, plating five runs and followed with three in the fourth and sixth in the fifth. Ohio State scattered 11 hits.

Akron will travel to Schoonover Stadium for a #MACtion series against rival Kent State. The Crystal Clinic Wagon Wheel Challenge series is scheduled for Friday through Sunday, April 14-16 with the first pitch on Friday slated for 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday's games are scheduled for 3 and 1 p.m., respectively.
