Garretson Soars to Pole Vault PR at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas – University of Akron redshirt sophomore Hunter Garretson (Newcomerstown, Ohio) eclipsed a career-high clearance of 18-8.75 (5.71m) in the men's pole vault to headline the Zips' efforts on the final day of the Texas Relays hosted by the University of Texas on Saturday, April 1.
Garretson's performance equals the No. 2 mark in outdoor program history set by 2021 Olympian and 2017 NCAA Champion Matt Ludwig in 2018. Additionally, his effort stands as the No. 3 mark in the NCAA this year. The top-three marks in the country this season were set in the elite competition at the Texas Relays.
