The Zips' contest versus Miami on Sunday (Oct. 22) marked the final regular season home games in the careers of Katharina Bilz (Huenstetten Wallbach, Germany), Clara Knoepke (Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany), Sarah Nguyen (Irwin, Pa.), Morgan Pentz (Broadview Heights, Ohio) and Katie Stafford (Gahanna, Ohio).
Bilz has appeared in 47 contests as a Zip, including 40 starts, en route to recording eight shots, with four strikes falling on net.
Knoepke has appeared in 14 contests for Akron, including four starts.
Nguyen has appeared in 55 contests for the Zips, including 52 starts, en route to registering a goal and seven assists on 41 shots, with 16 strikes coming on net.
Pentz has appeared in 49 contests at Akron, including 28 starts, and has tallied six goals on 45 shots, with 26 strikes falling on goal.
Stafford has started all 59 contests in which she has appeared in for the Zips and has registered seven goals and three assists on 27 shots, with 14 strikes coming on net.
SCOUTING AKRON
The Zips come into their game against Ohio on Thursday (Oct. 26) at 3-13-1 on the campaign, including 1-8-1 in the Mid-American Conference, after a 2-0 setback versus Miami on Oct. 12.
Morgan Pentz leads the Zips in goals (4) and points (8), while sophomore Emma King (Akron, Ohio) owns a team-high totals in shots (29), shots on goal (15) and game-winners (1). Additionally, King, Pentz and Katie Stafford have recorded three, two and two goals, respectively for the Zips. Juniors Caitlin Bruni (Canal Fulton, Ohio), Ella Hadley (Concord, Ohio) and Laurie-Anne Renaud (Quebec City, Quebec) along with freshmen Anna Simmons (Manassas, Va.) and Rachel Wenzel (Akron, Ohio) have each tallied an assist. Freshman Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio) has pulled in 53 saves for Akron.
The Zips under the leadership of second-year head coach Jen Simonetti return 10 starters in 2023, including 2022 All-Mid-American Conference performers, Hadley and King, who garnered Second-Team All-MAC and MAC All-Freshman Team accolades. Additionally, a quartet of team captains in senior Bailee Bowers (Dublin, Ohio) and Clara Knoepke, Pentz and Katie Stafford lead the Zips.

Sophomore GK Celeste Sloma has pulled in 74 saves en route to posting a 1.00 team goals against average and five shutouts.
