YPSILANTI, Mich. - The University of Akron women's soccer team earned a 2-1 win against Eastern Michigan on Thursday (Oct. 19) on the road at Scicluna Field.
How it Happened
Akron opened the scoring when junior Morgan Pentz (Broadview Heights, Ohio) notched her third goal of the season in the 50th minute.
The Eagles responded to tie the game on a goal from Olivia Sipsock in the 64th minute, assisted by Kate Robinson.
Akron went on top for good, 2-1, on Pentz's 86th-minute goal, her fourth of the season. Sophomore Kylie Schiemann (Geneva, Ohio) and junior Ella Hadley (Concord, Ohio) assisted the goal.
Game Notes
- Freshman GK Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio) recorded two saves for the Zips out of nine total Eagles shots.
- Akron totaled 10 shots on goal.
