Women’s Soccer Hosts Robert Morris for Exhibition Game

AKRON, Ohio- The Akron Zips women's soccer team will host Robert Morris in an exhibition match Saturday, Aug. 13, at 1 p.m. at FirstEnergy Stadium.
There will be no live stats for Saturday's exhibition match.
Under the direction of first-year head coach Jen Simonetti, the Zips return 16 players from last season's squad, including eight players who started 10 or more games. Akron is led by sophomore Katie Stafford (Gahanna, Ohio) who paced the team with four goals, an assist, and six shots on goal last season, while sophomore Sarah Nguyen (Irwin, Pa.) led the team with four assists and eight shots on goal. In the net, the Zips return sophomore goalie Penelope Cuirinier (Mionnay, France) who made 18 starts in goal and registered 94 saves.
The Zips welcome three true freshman to the squad in Ari Mahoney (Medina, Ohio), Emma King (Akron, Ohio), and Kristina Syragakis (Quebec, Canada), while also adding three transfers in Clara Krohn (Akron, Ohio), Merica Abnathy (Lakeland, Fla.), and Lacey Bernick (Huntingdon, Pa.).
Akron will open its regular season at home against Youngstown State on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m.
CLEAR BAG POLICY
Akron has instituted new clear bag policy where approved bags include clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed a size of 12 inches wide by 12 inches high and 6 inches deep. Other approved bags include one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar), medical bags and small clutch bags approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap.
Prohibited bags include backpacks, binocular cases, camera cases, fanny packs, large-printed bags, mesh bags, purses and tinted plastic bags.
We want all fans to have an enjoyable experience while on campus at the University of Akron and the safety of all fans is of utmost importance to us. We look forward to seeing everyone at an Akron Zips athletic event this year.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
Artificial noisemakers, laser pointers, hoverboards/skateboards, signs larger than 2 feet by 3 feet, alcoholic beverages, outside food and beverages, signs with inappropriate of offensive language and weapons are not permitted at Akron Athletic venues.
PROHIBITED BEHAVIOR
Examples of prohibited behavior include but are not limited to throwing objects of any kind; demonstrating unruly behavior; attempting to enter the court; engaging in behavior that endangers the safety of student athletes, coaches, officials, or other guests; attempting to access the court and/ or taunting of law enforcement, safety and event staff personnel.
Consequences for guests exhibiting prohibited behavior include, but are not limited to, ejection from all Akron Athletic venues, and/or arrest.
NO RE-ENTRY POLICY AT ALL ATHLETIC VENUES
Guests and students that exit all Akron Athletic venues will not be permitted to re-enter.

Exchange Street, near Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the venue, at the corner of E. Exchange and S. Union streets) during our business hours (Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
