AKRON, Ohio – A pair of second-half goals from Ohio's Emma Berish propelled the Bobcats to a 2-0 triumph past the University of Akron women's soccer team in the regular season finale for both squads in Mid-American Conference action on Thursday, Oct. 27 at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Ohio broke open a scoreless contest at halftime as Berish netted what proved to be the game-winning tally in the 63rd minute (62:59), before completing the brace with a goal at the 69:56 mark.
The Zips were directed by a pair of shots each from sophomores Lacey Bernick (Huntington, Pa.), Katharina Bilz (Huenstetten Wallbach, Germany) and Sarah Nguyen (Irwin, Pa.) as Akron posted a 13-7 margin in shots on the afternoon.
