Bass Garners All-MAC Accolades as League Unveils Preseason Coaches’ Poll

2022-23 MAC WOMEN'S PRESEASON AWARDS RELEASE
AKRON, Ohio – University of Akron women's basketball sophomore Reagan Bass (Strongsville, Ohio) was tabbed a preseason Second-Team All-Mid-American Conference selection when the league unveiled its 2022-23 Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll on Thursday, Oct. 27.
Additionally, the Zips were selected to finish eighth in the projected league standings behind preseason favorite Toledo (11 first-place votes and 143 points). The Rockets were followed by Ball State (1 first-place votes/130 points), Bowling Green (109), Kent State (103), Northern Illinois (99), Western Michigan (91), Ohio (61), Akron (50), Eastern Michigan (46), Buffalo (40), Miami (35) and Central Michigan (29).
On the strength of her breakout rookie campaign a season ago, Bass was tabbed Honorable Mention All-MAC and All-Freshman team honoree after playing in 26 games, including 25 starts, leading the Zips' offensive attack in the paint averaging 12.0 points per game, while ranking third in the league posting 1.19 blocks per game.
Bass scored a career-best 23-points against Eastern Michigan, while bringing down a career-high 13 rebounds at Wake Forest. Bass recorded a career-high four blocks against Western Michigan, while recording two or more blocks in seven games. Bass finished the season with 17 double-figure games.
