AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron women's basketball team for the third consecutive season has partnered with the Nakon Foundation to host its third 'Akron for Nakon' day in conjunction with the Zips' Breast Cancer Awareness game taking place on Saturday, Feb. 13, as Akron hosts Toledo in a 2 p.m. game at James A. Rhodes Arena.
Beginning on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. a silent auction will be held running through 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13. Additionally, 'Akron for Nakon' t-shirts will be sold, and you can donate to 'Akron for Nakon' here, through Sunday, Feb. 14, with all the proceeds benefiting the Nakon Foundation.

About the Nakon Foundation:
The mission of the event is to raise funds to support those suffering from breast cancer, honor the survivors of all cancers, and educate the community. The Nakon Foundation will be the beneficiary of this year's event. All proceeds of the "Nakon for Akron" Game will be donated to this local community foundation.
The Karen P. Nakon Breast Cancer Foundation was established on February 22, 2003,
Karen's 38th birthday, to honor her graceful and courageous five-year battle against breast cancer. The primary objective of the Nakon Foundation is to help families endure the staggering cost of treatment. The foundation provides services for Northeast Ohio residents who are undergoing treatment and are in need of financial support.
