AKRON, Ohio- The Akron women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback at Western Michigan in Mid-American Conference action on Sunday, Oct. 17.
Â
The Broncos scored a goal in each half en route to notching the triumph over the Zips as Western Michigan outshot Akron on the afternoon.
Â
After the initial strike of the game was saved by freshman goalkeeper Penelope Cuirinier (Mionnay, France) at the 8:08 mark, junior Sydney Worthy (Groveport, Ohio) struck a shot on goal that was thwarted by a save from Maggie Rogers.
Â
The Broncos capitalized with a tally from Morgan Otteson in the 11th minute (10:52) to assume a lead they didn't relinquish.
Â
Junior Carly Pcholinsky (South Park, Pa.) registered a shot on goal and an attempt at the equalizer at the 52:21 mark, one that was denied by a save from Rogers.

Western Michigan capped the scoring with a tally from Bailey Korhorn in the 60th minute (59:48).
