Akron Football’s Spring Showcase Set for April 13

AKRON, Ohio — University of Akron football, under the guidance of first-year head coach Tom Arth, will hold its annual Spring Showcase on Saturday, April 13, at Noon at InfoCision Stadium– Summa Field. Admission and parking are FREE.
Additionally, softball will host Ohio in a doubleheader at 1 p.m. at Lee R. Jackson Field. A Zips' tailgate with free hotdogs, chips, and Coca-Cola products for the first 200 fans will begin at 2 p.m.
The festivities kick off with ZipsFest, presented by Summa Health, from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in the Louis and Freda Stile Athletics Field House, featuring inflatables and activities for the children. Please enter through the Football Helmet on Vine Street.
The stadium gates (Gate #1 and Gate #2 only) open at 10:30 a.m. with kickoff slated for Noon.
During the game, all fans are encouraged to visit the 5th floor of the stadium (Club Level) to check out premium seating. Take the elevators in the House of LaRose lobby to the 5th floor. Ticket sales representatives will also be available at the 50-yard line section behind Akron's home bench to show you the best available open seats and various purchasing options this year.
Additionally, fans will have the opportunity to purchase authentic Zips' gear during the annual Surplus Sale on the main concourse, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Available for purchase are: old game jerseys (including football), t-shirts, polo shirts, jackets, winter jackets, pants, shoes, football cleats, track spikes, and more.
Following the practice, the entire team will participate in an autograph session with fans on Vine Street.
Returning 51 letterwinners, Akron opens the 2019 season at Illinois on August 31. The home opener is slated for Sept. 7 against UAB.
Season ticket plans—which include a ticket to all six home games as well as a parking pass—can be purchased now to lock in the 2018 pricing for the 2019 season, starting at only $60 each. Renewals (for current season ticket holders) and new seats are now available for purchase by calling or texting 888-99-AKRON (25766) or visiting The C.P. and Cornelia S. Chima Athletics Ticket Office at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field (located at 375 E. Exchange Street, near Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the venue, at the corner of E. Exchange and S. Union streets) during business hours (Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
