RIO VERDE, Ariz. – Senior Danielle Nicholson (Geneva, Ohio) and freshman Ivana Shah (Mumbai, India) used a pair of Top 25 finishes to lead the Zips to 14th overall, 307-315 – 622 (+54), at the Rio Verde Invitational.
Both, Nicholson and Shah finished 17th overall. Nicholson posted rounds of 76 (+5) and 74 (+3) for a 150 (+8) 36-hole ledger, while Shah carded an 8-over par tournament total with a pair of 75 (+4) efforts.
Senior Makayla Dull (Fremont, Ohio) followed with a 158 (+16) tournament total, while sophomore Abbie Pearce (Green, Ohio) and junior Allyson Wentworth (Stewartsville, N.J.) rounded out the Zips' scoring with 164 (+22) and 167 (+25) scores, respectively.
Western Michigan's Claire Hernandez earned individual medalist honors with an even-par 142 on rounds of 70 (-1) and 72 (+1). Xavier won the team championship with a pair of sub-300 rounds, 299-292 - 591 (+23).
The Zips will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday, March 11-12 at the 2019 Bucknell Spring Break Intercollegiate at Reunion Resort &Club's Watson Course in Orlando, Fla.
